The short answer

KORD BREACH is a separate seasonal progression path, not a reset of your normal PvP or PvE character. Create a Seasonal Character if you want seasonal trader offers, achievements and Battle Pass rewards, review Global and Personal Modifiers before confirming, and start collecting TerraGroup documentation from your first raids. Your regular PvP Zone and PvE Zone characters remain separate.

  • Read the Global Modifiers before creating the Seasonal Character.
  • Personal Modifiers are useful, but they should match your goal: quests, TerraGroup document routes, PvP or economy.
  • Collect TerraGroup documents in suitable raids, but do not build all progression around document farming only.
  • Start the KORD BREACH task line early because it unlocks seasonal progression and special offers.
  • Do not plan around insurance in PvP Season: insurance is disabled there.

What changed in Tarkov 1.1.0 and what KORD BREACH is

Patch 1.1.0.0 added the Seasons system to Escape from Tarkov. The first season is KORD BREACH, with its own rules, modifiers, tasks, rewards and progression. This is not simply another quest line on top of an existing profile: the Seasonal Character runs on separate servers and is independent from both PvP Zone and PvE Zone characters.

Seasonal Character progress is automatically reset roughly every four to six months when a major content update starts a new season. Treat seasonal rewards as time-limited objectives. Rewards you unlock remain on the account, while seasonal rewards that are still locked when KORD BREACH ends cannot be obtained later.

The practical lesson is to avoid playing the season like a normal long-term profile. Check the reward requirements first, then build your raid and task route around the rewards you actually want.

  • PvP Zone, PvE Zone and PvP Season have separate characters and rules.
  • Seasonal progression is not a permanent account profile.
  • Unlocked seasonal trader offers become available across all game modes.
  • Locked rewards become unavailable when the season ends.

Seasonal Character: creation and modifier choices

Create the Seasonal Character from the dedicated character selection screen. Before confirmation, the game shows the Global Modifiers. They apply to every KORD BREACH participant, affect Seasonal Characters only, and cannot be disabled or changed by an individual player.

Personal Modifiers are a second layer. Positive modifiers make selected parts of the game easier and spend points, while negative modifiers add points. Your final balance must be zero or higher. The choice is optional, so you can create a character without any Personal Modifiers.

Personal Modifiers should not be ignored. Picked carefully, they can give a real advantage and shape the season around your playstyle. The mistake is not taking modifiers; the mistake is taking a random penalty for points and spending those points on a bonus that does not help your current goal. Choose the plan first, then build the modifier set on the character creation screen.

  • Read every Global Modifier before confirming the character.
  • Choose negative modifiers only where the downside barely touches your route: do not make healing worse if you plan heavy PvP, and do not damage your economy if your goal is fast trader progression.
  • After creation, view your choices under Character, Skills and Modifiers.
  • The best Personal Modifier setup depends on the goal: do not copy someone else's setup blindly; compare bonuses and penalties with how you are actually going to play the season.

Battle Pass: how TerraGroup documentation works

KORD BREACH also adds a free Battle Pass. Its progress is shared between PvP Season, PvP Zone and PvE Zone. You unlock Battle Pass rewards by finding and submitting the required amount of TerraGroup documentation.

Documentation can be found during raids, earned through the KORD BREACH task line and obtained by eliminating certain Black Division operatives. Documents found on a location work like personal task items: every player receives their own instances, so another player cannot take your intended document before you do. Documentation from Black Division is different: treat it as shared loot and check it immediately after the fight.

Raid documentation has a daily limit. The limit depends on the selected game mode, but progress toward the limit is shared across modes. Switching from PvP Season to PvE Zone does not create a fresh full limit. Classified Documents from the Expansion Hub can replace other document types when unlocking a reward, but they should be treated as a supplement rather than your main Battle Pass plan.

The official update description says that documentation can be found across different locations, but it does not publish one permanent table of exact spawn points for every map. Treat specific routes as version-dependent information that must be checked against the current client rather than presented as a fixed rule.

  • Search for TerraGroup documents while moving toward quests, not as a separate empty farm: this progresses level, KORD BREACH and Battle Pass at the same time.
  • Check your inventory across modes because Battle Pass progress is shared.
  • Submit documentation when a reward is ready rather than waiting for the end of the season.
  • Plan around the daily document limit and switch to quests, traders or economy once the limit is mostly done.
  • Do not trust an old video route without checking its version, map and game mode.

The KORD BREACH task line and seasonal rewards

The KORD BREACH task line is the main seasonal route. It can unlock achievements, new Operational Tasks, offers for highly valuable items and a trader offer for the new weapon. It also gives the season a clear progression path instead of forcing you to rely on random side-task availability.

Seasonal rewards can require a PMC level, a specific task or a complete task chain. Once a reward is unlocked, it becomes available across every game mode. The Seasonal Character itself remains a separate profile, but the reward unlock is account-wide.

Open the reward list early and write down the requirements for the offers you care about. You do not need to complete every objective immediately, but time-limited chains should not be left for the final weeks of the season.

  • Check reward requirements before choosing a task order.
  • Use Operational Tasks for money and experience, but do not let them replace the seasonal chain.
  • Combine location tasks with TerraGroup documentation routes.
  • Track seasonal rewards in your profile, not only your character level.

What changed for the economy, traders and the Hideout

Patch 1.1.0.0 makes the early economy more demanding. Trader prices increased on average, traders pay less for items you sell, and the Flea Market fee increased from 3% to 5%. Random loot and quick selling therefore give you less financial room than before.

Trader sales volume is no longer part of Loyalty Level requirements. Reputation and character-level requirements were rebalanced, while several popular ammunition and magazine offers moved to earlier Loyalty Levels. The correct purchase route is now based on the current trader screen, not an old table from a previous wipe.

Some early Hideout requirements were simplified, and selected PvP/PvE construction materials no longer require Found in Raid. The Weapon Build system is available from the start without a Workbench, but many Hideout areas now include money requirements. Before selling an item, check both quests and your next Hideout upgrade.

  • Keep a cash buffer instead of converting every item into a Flea Market sale.
  • Check current trader Loyalty Levels before buying early ammunition and magazines.
  • Use Weapon Build from the start to assemble cheap, functional kits.
  • Verify current Found in Raid requirements instead of trusting an old Hideout list.

Insurance and death in PvP Season

Insurance is disabled in the seasonal mode. This is one of the biggest KORD BREACH differences from normal PvP and PvE profiles: lost gear should not be expected to return through Prapor, Therapist or Jaeger.

Use equipment you can afford to lose during your first raids. Bring a functional weapon, basic protection, a small medical kit and enough money for the next attempt. Do not move an expensive kit into the season simply because it is available on your normal profile.

The new Jaeger insurance and faster Prapor and Therapist returns apply to PvP Zone and PvE Zone, not to the Seasonal Character. Keep those rules separate when planning your loadout.

Side tasks and squad assistance

Most side tasks are now tied to a Trader Loyalty Level. They appear in small groups of two to four tasks. The next group unlocks after several tasks at the current level or after reaching the next Loyalty Level.

This makes progression less dependent on one exact task. If a task does not appear, complete other available tasks for the trader, build reputation and check the next group rather than waiting indefinitely.

Some objectives can now be completed with squad help and are marked with a dedicated icon. The assisting player still has to satisfy the objective conditions, including distance, equipment and active status effects. Some task chains remain solo, so a squad does not guarantee shared progress.

A practical route

A practical first-days plan

This is not a meta loadout. It is a safe order of operations that keeps seasonal progression, the economy and the Battle Pass moving together.

01

Choose Personal Modifiers around your season goal

Read the Global Modifiers first, then build Personal Modifiers around the job. Do not take a penalty for points until you understand how it affects your raids, tasks and economy.

02

Build two affordable kits

Use one kit for objectives and keep the other as a backup. PvP Season has no insurance, so consistency matters more than expensive weapons.

03

Collect documents while raiding normally

Do not turn every raid into a separate farm. If your route to an objective passes potential TerraGroup documentation, check it on the way, but do not break the main purpose of the raid for it.

04

Open the KORD BREACH chain early

It is connected to seasonal achievements, Operational Tasks and special trader offers. Read its requirements, then pair it with nearby objectives.

05

Stabilize traders and the Hideout

Do not spend every rouble on the Flea Market. Check Loyalty Levels, early recipes and construction requirements before committing your cash.

06

Review rewards before the season ends

Unlocked seasonal offers remain, but locked KORD BREACH rewards become unavailable after the season. Leave time for chains, not only level farming.

Avoid these traps

Common KORD BREACH mistakes

The new system punishes poor priorities more than a lack of expensive gear.

Taking random modifiers without a plan

Global rules cannot be disabled after creation, and Personal Modifiers can strongly change the season pace. Do not take a penalty only for points: decide first whether you are playing for TerraGroup documents, quests, PvP or economy.

Playing as if insurance still works

Lost seasonal gear will not return through insurance. Keep several affordable kits and do not enter a raid with your last money.

Leaving the Battle Pass until the final weeks

Documentation has a daily limit, and locked seasonal rewards become unavailable when KORD BREACH ends.

Selling an item needed by the Hideout

Early construction requirements changed, so old Found in Raid and item lists can be misleading.

Waiting for one exact side task

Side tasks now unlock in Loyalty Level groups. Complete several available tasks and watch for the next group.

FAQ

What changed in Tarkov 1.1.0?

Patch 1.1.0.0 added the Seasons system and the first season, KORD BREACH. The update introduced a separate Seasonal Character, Global and Personal Modifiers, a free Battle Pass with TerraGroup documents, seasonal rewards, a new task line and changes to the economy, traders, Hideout and insurance.

How do you get TerraGroup documents in KORD BREACH?

TerraGroup documents can be obtained during raids, through the KORD BREACH special task line and by eliminating certain Black Division operatives. Raid documentation has a daily limit, while Battle Pass progress is shared across PvP Season, PvP Zone and PvE Zone.

When does the Tarkov Seasonal Character reset?

Seasonal Character progress resets roughly every four to six months when a major content update starts a new season. Unlocked seasonal rewards remain on the account, while rewards left locked when the season ends cannot be obtained later.

Is KORD BREACH a full wipe of my normal character?

No. The Seasonal Character is separate from PvP Zone and PvE Zone. It has its own progression and rules, and that seasonal progression resets when the next season begins.

Do I have to choose Personal Modifiers?

No, but they are useful. The best choice is to match them to your goal: quests, TerraGroup document routes, PvP or economy. Avoid taking random negative modifiers only because they give points.

Does the Battle Pass work in PvE?

Yes. Battle Pass progress is shared between PvP Season, PvP Zone and PvE Zone. Documentation and unlocked rewards count across modes.

Is insurance available in PvP Season?

No. Insurance is disabled in the seasonal mode, so choose every raid kit as if it can be lost permanently.

What happens to unlocked rewards after the season?

Unlocked seasonal rewards remain available across all modes. Rewards that are still locked when KORD BREACH ends cannot be obtained after the season.

Where can I see my Personal Modifiers?

Open Character, then Skills and Modifiers.
